Human Resources Officer (Generalist)
HR & Recruitment
K sh 70,000 – 120,000 gross / month
Openings: 1 Location: Nairobi – Westlands (Waiyaki Way) Overview: Our client is a young, buzzing company, the kind that moves fast, plays hard, and has an employee count as big as your heart (250+ and growing!). They sell cool consumer electronics across Kenya and are building something big, one store launch and one happy customer at a time. The vibe? Modern, ambitious, and just the right mix of serious about work and lighthearted about life. They’re now looking for an HR Officer to keep that growing team organized, happy, and compliant without killing the fun. You’ll be the person making sure new hires feel at home, managers get their HR updates on time, and everyone knows where to find their leave balance (and maybe some snacks). It’s the kind of role where you’ll balance people, paperwork, and plenty of Slack messages all before lunch. You’ll sit right at the heart of the action in their Westlands HQ, where ideas bounce off the walls faster than the Wi-Fi. The culture is fast-paced but warm, data-driven but human. If you’ve got people skills, a calm head, and a soft spot for good office banter, you’ll fit right in. It’s not just HR, it’s HR with personality. Key Responsibilities: - Coordinate job postings, shortlist reviews, interview logistics, and offers. - Own onboarding: contracts, HRIS enrollment, induction agenda, 30/60/90 follow-ups. - Maintain personnel files, leave, and benefits; ensure statutory compliance. - Support performance cycles, training calendars, and probations. - Handle first-line employee relations and grievance intake; escalate appropriately. - Prepare HR dashboards (headcount, attrition, leave, time-to-hire). - Update policies/SOPs; brief managers on changes. - Partner with Payroll on monthly inputs and audits. Education & Experience: - BCom (HR) / BA (PPM) or Diploma in HRM. - 2–3 years in HR generalist roles. Skills & Tools: HRIS (Bamboo/Zoho/Sage), Excel, labor law basics, confidentiality, and people skills. KPIs: - Time-to-hire, onboarding SLA, HRIS accuracy, and ER case turnaround. Compensation (Kenya): KES 70,000–120,000 + annual bonus (up to 10%). Figures are estimates shared by our clients and vary with your experience, interview performance, certifications, and company pay bands. Benefits: - Medical, pension, phone/data, training. Growth Path (hierarchy/expected promotions): - Senior HR Officer → HR Business Partner → HR Manager. This is the ideal hierarchy inside the client’s company and thus the expected growth cycle for this position.
