You’ll oversee execution across CBC classes while ensuring legacy 8-4-4 learners don’t miss a beat. From harmonizing schemes of work to coordinating assessments and remediation timetables, you’ll make sure every subject department follows consistent rubrics and delivers measurable learning outcomes. Think of it as being the calm, organized force behind high-performing classrooms. Our client seeks a Deputy Principal who can mentor, monitor, and motivate simultaneously. You’ll lead lesson observation cycles, guide HODs on actionable feedback, and run literacy and numeracy intervention blocks that actually move the needle. Pull-outs, clubs, and targeted remediation become part of a coherent strategy rather than isolated fixes. Beyond instruction, you’ll track students at risk, assign interventions, and review progress weekly. Exams logistics, KNEC compliance, and documentation integrity will fall under your watchful eye. When the Principal is unavailable, you step in seamlessly, managing assemblies, parent forums, and day-to-day school rhythm with the same clarity and decisiveness. At its core, this role blends operational rigor with empathetic leadership. Success isn’t just measured by schedules met or rubrics completed, but by improved student outcomes, empowered teachers, and a school culture that balances discipline with care. You’ll leave a tangible mark on both the CBC rollout and the legacy 8-4-4 continuity. Key Responsibilities: - Coordinate schemes of work, assessment maps, and moderation. - Run literacy/numeracy remediation blocks; schedule pull-outs and clubs. - Lead lesson observation cycles; mentor HODs on feedback quality. - Track students at risk; assign interventions with weekly reviews. - Manage exams logistics (KNEC internal); uphold integrity and documentation. - Stand in for the Principal and manage assemblies/parent forums. Education & Experience: - B.Ed (Any) or BA/BSc + PGDE; 5–8 years teaching; prior HOD/Deputy experience preferred. Skills & Tools: - Curriculum mapping, assessment design, teacher coaching, MIS, and conflict resolution. KPIs: - Assessment completion & moderation rates; intervention impact; timetable adherence.
