As one of three Special Needs Teachers, you’ll work with learners with ASD, ADHD, and mild-to-moderate learning disabilities, designing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that translate assessment into actionable progress. Your days blend instruction, observation, and collaboration, helping each child thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Our client values educators who are empathetic yet sharp, able to coordinate therapists, run pull-out sessions, and advise mainstream teachers on accommodations without slowing down the broader classroom flow. You’ll ensure behavior plans, assistive technology, and sensory-friendly routines are not just on paper but actively shaping learning experiences. Collaboration extends beyond the classroom: you’ll partner with caregivers through training sessions and support groups, fostering trust and equipping families with strategies to reinforce learning at home. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct assessments; develop and review IEPs each term. - Deliver individualized instruction and small-group pull-outs. - Train mainstream teachers on accommodations and behavior plans. - Coordinate therapists (OT, speech); track goals and notes. - Manage safeguarding, de-escalation, and sensory-friendly routines. - Run caregiver training and support groups. Education & Experience: - B.Ed Special Needs or B.Ed + SNE certification; 3+ years in SNE. Skills & Tools: - Behavior plans, assistive tech, documentation, empathy, collaboration. KPIs: - IEP goal attainment, attendance, teacher/caregiver satisfaction, and incident reduction. Compensation (Kenya): KES 90,000–150,000 + IEP outcome bonus.
