Openings: 1 Location: Nairobi – Karen Plains (Bogani Rd belt) Overview Our client is looking for a Tissue Culture Technologist to scale plantlet production for banana and select ornamentals. You’ll maintain aseptic technique, media prep, explant initiation, sub-culturing, and acclimatization protocols. The lab serves commercial estates and NGO projects; precision and throughput both matter. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare media; sterilize tools; maintain aseptic workflows. - Initiate explants; subculture and multiply per SOP. - Track contamination rates; run root-cause analysis. - Manage acclimatization (mist house/hardening). - Maintain inventory and batch records; support audits. Education & Experience: - BSc Biotechnology/Plant Science or Diploma + 3 yrs tissue culture. Skills & Tools: - Laminar flow, autoclave, media recipes, sterile technique, meticulous records. KPIs: - Contamination %, multiplication rate, plantlet quality, yield. Compensation (Kenya): KES 90,000–150,000 + throughput bonus. Figures are client estimates and vary with experience & output.
