Openings: 1 Location: Nairobi – Koma Rock (Eastern bypass industrial pocket) Overview: Our client is seeking a Materials Engineer to oversee quality control for concrete and asphalt projects across multiple sites. You’ll design mixes, supervise batching/laydown, and run lab tests that protect durability and cost. Expect night pours and tight windows where getting it right the first time matters. Key Responsibilities: - Design/validate mixes; run trials and cube tests. - Oversee batching, delivery, temperature logs, and slump control. - Manage asphalt plant QC; density, gradation, bitumen content. - Coordinate labs; ensure equipment calibration and traceability. - Investigate failures; propose fixes and specs updates. Education & Experience: - BSc Civil/Materials Eng; 4–6 yrs concrete/asphalt QA/QC. Skills & Tools: - Lab methods, statistics/SPC, specs (ASTM/BS), site coordination. KPIs: - Test pass rate, NCRs closed, waste/rework %, supplier quality. Compensation (Kenya): KES 170,000–260,000 + project bonus. Client estimates vary with portfolio & accreditation.
