Openings: 1 Location: Nairobi – Ridgeways (Kiambu Rd / Muthaiga North axis) Overview: Our client is looking for a Lighting Designer/Operator to create looks for theatre, concerts, and branded shows. You’ll balance artistic direction with rig availability, power, safety, and quick turnarounds. Efficient patching and cue stacks are a must. Key Responsibilities: - Design plots; specify fixtures; prep rig & patch. - Program consoles; build palettes, groups, and cue stacks. - Focus, gel, address; coordinate with set/sound teams. - Ensure electrical safety, load calculations, and emergency lighting. - Document shows; maintain fixture logs. Education & Experience: - Theatre/Lighting/EE diplomas + 3–5 yrs show ops. Skills & Tools: - MA/Chamsys/ETC desks, DMX/Art-Net, power safety, drafting. KPIs: - Cue accuracy, rig uptime, client satisfaction, power incidents = 0. Compensation (Kenya): KES 120,000–190,000 + show allowances. Estimates vary with console experience, touring availability, overnight work, and rig size. Peak-season spikes and festival packages may raise pay temporarily.
