Openings: 1 Location: Nairobi – Mlolongo Weighbridge (Athi River metro, Msa Rd spur) Overview: Words have power, especially when they capture the vibe of Nairobi streets, viral trends, and the pulse of Kenyan pop culture. In this role, you’ll craft scripts, taglines, and brand stories that feel alive, never canned across social, video, and experiential campaigns. Every line you write should land with energy, clarity, and relevance. Expect fast iterations and tight collaboration. Designers, producers, and strategists will lean on you to translate ideas into copy that pops on every platform. From snappy Instagram hooks to long-form branded narratives, your voice will shape how audiences experience the brand. Precision matters. You’ll QA subtitles, lower thirds, and captions across formats, ensuring consistency, inclusivity, and legal safety. Style guides are your roadmap, but instinct and cultural fluency are your compass when the brief doesn’t spell everything out. Analysis is part of the craft. Tracking watch times, engagement lift, and CTA performance helps you refine hooks and rhythms, so campaigns don’t just exist, they perform. Each successful iteration is a conversation with your audience, informed by real data and sharp cultural insight. Joining this team puts you on a path from Senior Copywriter to Associate Creative Director (Copy) and eventually Creative Director, where your pen or keyboard shapes not just campaigns, but the voice of a brand across Kenya. Key Responsibilities: - Write scripts, captions, taglines, and long copy; keep tone on-brand. - Collaborate on concepts; pitch lines and structures. - QA subtitles, supers, and lower thirds across formats. - Maintain style guides; run language checks for inclusivity and legality. - Analyze performance; iterate hooks and CTAs. Education & Experience: - Communication/English/PR (Strathmore/Daystar/USIU/KCA/Riara) + 3–5 yrs. Skills & Tools: - Concepting, writing, cultural fluency, basics of SEO/social copy. KPIs: - CTR, watch time lift from scripts, brand recall, approval speed. Compensation (Kenya): KES 110,000–170,000 + campaign bonus. Estimates; final offers shift with portfolio strength, category experience, and ability to write for multiple languages/vernaculars. Rare voice/tone fits may command more.
