Classroom tech works best when someone is quietly keeping everything running. As an ICT Assistant, you’ll be that friendly presence ensuring lessons start on time, projectors display correctly, printers have paper, and student logins are ready. Your work directly enables teachers to teach and students to learn without disruption.
Our client is looking for someone calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and willing to solve small technical puzzles with patience. You’ll manage a ticket queue, follow simple “fix-first” guides, and standardize images for student PCs, making the environment predictable and efficient.
Expect daily hands-on tasks like checking AV equipment, replacing cables or toners, imaging PCs, managing permissions, and setting up computer labs for classes. Teachers value clear, non-technical explanations, and students need calm guidance when issues arise mid-lesson.
The role also involves documenting fixes, so the next person can follow your steps without repeated troubleshooting. Clear notes, organized workflows, and proactive maintenance are as important as technical skill.
Over time, you’ll gain practical experience in ICT support, lab management, and training users, building a strong foundation to progress from ICT Assistant to Technician and eventually School ICT Officer. For someone who enjoys problem-solving with impact, this role is both hands-on and highly rewarding.
Client estimates; offers vary with imaging/scripting familiarity and ability to train teachers briefly before lessons.
