Behind every packed dancefloor is controlled execution. This role focuses on structured set-building, tempo discipline, and measurable crowd engagement. As the Event DJ, you’ll be responsible for translating audience mood into a cohesive sonic experience — from warm-up sets to peak-hour transitions.
Your work starts before the event: playlist architecture, BPM mapping, crate preparation, and contingency planning. During performance, your priority is precision — clean beatmatching, tight phrasing, EQ management, and smooth genre shifts. After each event, you’ll log performance notes, review crowd response, and refine future sets.
This is suited for someone who treats DJing as both art and system — where timing, preparation, and consistency drive repeat bookings.
KES 55,000–95,000 monthly retainer (for residency). Freelance event rate negotiable per booking. Higher compensation for DJs who pass a live technical audition (transition and crowd-control test).
